Expos were held in 2007, 2008 2009 and 2010. Sustainable Big Bend, Inc., in collaboration with many volunteers, presented these day-long Saturday events at one of the middle schools in Wakulla County. Typically there have been 700-800 people on-site. Evaluations and follow-up from the 2010 Expo indicated that almost 90% of those interviewed six months after the event indicated they had changed some aspect of their lives to become more sustainable.

The Expos are intended to be appropriate for all members of the community and family. This is an opportunity to experience a simpler, more sustainable life and to learn ways to save money and reduce negative impacts on the Earth.

Activities include Bicycle Safety & Rally; Children’s Activities, Green Flea Market; Rain Barrel Demonstration, Art made from Re-purposed items, Silent Action and much more.

Workshops anticipated for the 2014 Expo include but are not limited to:

Landscaping on the Edge; Harmful Algal Blooms; Florida Wildflowers; Yards for Butterflies; Water Conservation When Landscaping; Reducing Your Footprint, Little Actions-Big Results; Soil Solarization; Growing & Feasting on Salads; Composting; and more.

Come join us for a day of learning how you can live more sustainably and have less impact on the earth’s resources.
